To open up the possibility of some great uses of open data, we have decided to open the entry criteria for the Irish OpenDatathon, to allow non-software entries. Yes, that’s right – you don’t have to be a coder to enter your idea. Entries will now be allowed for visualisations such as infographics, spreadsheets, or other graphically capable tools. The underlying criteria still prevails, that you must use more than one open dataset from data.gov.ie but now, designers and non-coders are eligible to enter also. Don’t forget, our first prize is worth €1500 to the lucky competitor/team. Don’t delay; submit your ideas for the datathon today!
